The BMW CE16 engine is primarily used in the BMW 1 series and 316i models. This engine features-mounted
direct fuel injection and overhead spark plugs. Although it does not have an integrated exhaust manifold, it is
equipped with a twin-scroll single turbocharger, offering direct, twin-scroll boosting, cast aluminum cylinder block,
continuously variable valve lift (D-VVT), variable oil pump, switchable water pump, electronic thermostat, start
technology, forged crankshaft, separate cooling, low-friction design, thermal management system, front exhaust
design, and dual-mass flywheel, among other advanced.
Additionally, the CE16 engine is equipped with BMW's latest control system, iCARDME8.4T, which combines BMW's
proprietary CVVL to further enhance the engine's performance and efficiency.
